I extremely enjoyed, “Born In The Streets, But Raised In Prison”. This perfectly paced story about the decisions we make and the consequences that come with them, will have you laughing and crying and running to the next page to find out what happens next. No matter your personal stance or experience on street living you will come away from reevaluating your priorities and possibly a way to break free from the prison you make for yourself.

THIS BOOK IS ADDICTING! IT’S BROUGHT TO LIFE AND YOU CAN ALMOST PICTURE EVERYTHING EXACTLY AS YOU READ IT. THERE IS NOTHING BUT SUSPENSE ON EVERY PAGE AND THE SURPRISES ARE ENDLESS. I LIKE IT BECAUSE IT IS SAD HOW CRIMINALS ARE ALWAYS LOOKED DOWN ON, YES THEY ARE INDEED CRIMINALS BUT LIKE THEY SAY IN THE STREET “YOU GOTTA DO WHAT YOU GOTTA DO” TO SURVIVE AND HELP YOUR FAMILY. I DON’T COMPLETELY AGREE WITH EVERYTHING HE DID BUT CAN’T YOU BLAME HIM? THE SAD PART IS HE REALIZED IT TOO LATE IN LIFE BUT AT LEAST HE DID. OTHER TO THIS DAY NEVER REALIZES THE HARM THAT THEY DO. I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE!

“Born in the Streets….” documents in a real and entertaining way the trials and tribulations many inner city youths encounter straight out of the womb. It also brings to the light, the highs and the lows “The Life” can bring without glamorizing it. Dope book, I can’t wait for the sequel.”

Damn Tra,

When I ran into you that day in Harlem on 125, you asked me to stop and take a look.....  I said I will return and you were surprise when I did.  I was a little hesitant when I checked your book.  I was looking for street thrash.  Sex, sex and more sex.  I bought your book to help a brother out, especially since I am an aspiring author myself.

Then that officer came up and I bought your book just because he harassed a brother trying to make a living.... well I finished your book two days ago and I am just coming down.  That book was fire... to barrower a line from the "OG's"  "Real recognize Real."  I am speechless right now as I type, but keep up the great work and one day I hope that I will be able to get my work out there.  Thank you for changing / opening my mind and heart to taking a chance on you.

Born in the streets but raised in prison, WOW, you had me sitting on the edge on my seat. Is this a true story? Whatever happened to Victor’s son? Are you ever coming out here to Michigan?

Born in the Streets but Raised in Prison by Tra Verdejo proves that the face of adversity to a 12 year old can become one of terror and hopelessness if parents and society fail them.  Injustice in the foster care system can bare suicidal consequences to the streets if our youth are not protected.  Every hand of life must grab this book to find out our relevant responsibilities to our youth!  I look for this book to become a television series.

Virgie Lindsey Grateful Gifts beyond Descriptions Volume 1 Inspirational Spiritual and Historical event poems I bought your book in Daytona Beach and I read it on my flight home. Wow! I read the book in less than a few days… N it left me wanting more. I can’t believe my big brother wrote this… I didn’t know you had these skills. (Just joking) Anyways, I look forward to more and bigger things from you. I am really proud of you and your accomplishment. The book had a great story line and kept me in suspense with all the twists.

I just finished reading your book and as a mother of three sons, you know I'm about to let them on to this.  It felt good reading a book where the author had the strong sense of family, loyalty and dedication such as yourself.  I bought the book from my friend Debbie (slight shout out for D).  Your book is FIRE, of course I had jokes with my family about a book with a sound track, which I have not listened to as of yet, but nevertheless, your book had me stuck on stupid.  It doesn't matter when you learn your life lessons, but at least you have.
Hold your head family and I look forward to another Verdejo publication in the near future.

I’m a mother of three, I bought your book because I thought maybe one of my sons could read it and learn something from you. But I read the book first and you blew my mind. I was wondering if you are interested in working with trouble kids. Please email me back as soon as you can and God bless you

Ok Tra....as I just put down your book 5 minutes ago, I was inspired to send you this email. Since football season is over, I decided to sit down and read your masterpiece today. Tra, I read the entire book today!
This was the best thing I've read in a long time. I couldn't put it down. Being from NY (Bronx) and living in that era.....bought back a lot of memories. As turned to read every chapter, I could actual relate to Victor and the streets. I guess if you are not from the streets you wouldn't recognize the real. The book was more than real for me...it took me back to the streets when that's all a lot of us had to turn to. I enjoyed this book a immensely! I just wanted to take the time out to tell you how wonderful I really thought it was and to applaud you on a job well done. I am not just a fellow NY Giants Fan, I'm also a fan of your writing....I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!!

This is Bonnie from Seattle, (Esquire Club) - man once I started reading your book, it was very hard to put it down. People would see me reading your book on the bus and wanted to know where they could get a copy - I even had a counselor from the jail house ask me about your book - This book kept me on my toes, well written, kudos to ya, everyone here in Seattle who did buy your book are excited to keep reading. Too bad for those folks who didn't buy one, they do not know what they missed. Now I have to get on the good foot and buy more books to read. I'm lost - I kinda feel like reading your book all over again just to see what I really missed. Hats off to ya man. Heard you on Kerry's show, hope to see you back in Seattle in March.
What's next?

I don’t normally read but once I started your book I couldn’t put it down. Great work my brother. How can I publish a book, I have a few stories to tell.
